Namie Amuro :: Filmography

Review
Filmography is Namie Amuro's second collection of music videos, and unfortunately not as enjoyable as the first. I really like the songs on here, so I was bummed to find this music video collection, as a whole, mediocre. Most of the videos have Namie talking very briefly before each one, but other than that it's purely music videos.

I Have Never Seen
This music video is boring. I need something more than her just sitting there during most of the song as she lip-synchs the words.

Respect The Power Of Love
Namie looks beautiful here and it has a great background set in a crisp desert location. Namie really looks like she's having a great time singing this song. The camera and style both work well here.

Something 'Bout The Kiss
This one is average. Namie does looks pretty in it, but there's really nothing all that entertaining happening. Has her dancing in a few scenes, but for the most part she is in a white room either laying down or standing there singing.

Love 2000
Average as well, but a bit interesting. The video plays up the technology aspect of the song, as violins are played by machines, movements are caught on camera, and monitors surrounding Namie.

Never End
Another video of Namie standing around singing the song, but I must admit Never End is quite gorgeous. The natural green environment, crystal clear water, and Namie's blue dress are pleasing to the eyes.

Please Smile Again
Please Smile again actually throws a bit of creativity in, but her funky outfit she spends most of her time in doesn't look too attractive. Sad to say again, but pretty average.

Think Of Me
Namie looks very beautiful and sincere as she sings Think Of Me. Much of the video is a shoulders-up view of Namie as she stands there and sings, but I really don't mind. The sincerity (she even sheds some tears) displayed here is a very nice touch.

Think Of Me - Non Edit Version
The regular version of this song has a few cuts that shows some other stuff going on. In this "Non Edit Version," it purely has her singing as described above without cutting out. I like both versions.

Overall:
Ryan Frost, 2005
